I GOT MY CAMERA BACK!!!

So I'm really lame and have abused my blog spot. I appologize. But I got my camera back and got some pictures to show! These are at random and I'll put the little stories with them.

I went out fishing with my new friends Mike and his dad (I totally forgot what his name was!) It was a much needed day out and revived me! His dad caught this shark, but I reeled one in earlier in the day! This is a Black Tip shark...propably about 4 feet long.

Went mini-golfing with the Interp crew. This is at the end. Erin and I in our "Pimp Daddy Chair" with our gangsta looks!

Went to the Collier County Fair Grounds to watch Bull Riding! Umm...Cowboys!

My Goliath Grouper. This is a protected species so even though we didn't keep any of our catches, I really had to throw this one back! But to let you know how big they can get the next picture was taken last summer, confiscated by Law Enforcement from some fishermen.

Erin wanted me to tell everyone...

Erin complained that I did not tell these 2 storys in my blog...

So when we went to pick up her car we had to drop off the rental vehicle. Well, the car guys handed off the keys to this short, little haitian man. OMG! I thought I was gonna die! He hit the gas as soon as he could and drove up as close to a car as he could and slammed on the brake. Swerved all over the road, screeched the tires slamming on the brakes, and had no idea where to go when he said he did. I got car sick in a 2 mile drive through town. I crawled outta that car kissing the ground!

We went to the Miracles Baseball Game on Sunday night and got autographs on our baseballs from Matt Fox, Whitt Robbins, Eli Tintor (from MN!) and a couple more!! It was SoOOOOO great!! They are sooo cute! but no phone numbers. It was fun talking to them though...they all asked if we went to school there. It was weird? Would we have gotten numbers if we did go to school? interesting!

So there, I hope I made you happy Erin.

Safety Meeting!

Okay, for those of you actually reading this. This is your safety meeting.

Scenario-

You are staying at a hotel. You fall asleep with fluffy pillows (or for some a significant other...I use fluffy pillows cause they don't kick you at night) surrounding you. Feeling comfortable knowing that where ever the sheets get tossed you do not have to pick them up because for a few nights this week you are actually rich enough to have a maid pick up your clutter! SUDDENLY you wake up to a loud beeping sound that sounds like a fire alarm! Do you...

A) think..."hum I wonder what that is?" roll over and go back to sleep.
B) call the front desk asking them what is going on and what to do.
C) GET THE H#$$ outta the hotel using the closes fire exit because you don't know who else is staying in this huge hotel and what they could be doing with things that burn!!


If you chose C. You win this months safety meeting. If you chose any other option you need to always read the sign on the back of the hotel door.

This happened Tuesday night at the hotel. At 2:07 am the fire alarms woke me up. I grabbed Erin and Nate was coming out of his room we exited out the exterior stairs and I noticed that no one else was leaving their rooms. We then entered to the front desk and the attendant was on the phone to guests telling them the power blinked off and set the alarms off and the fire department would be coming soon to stop them. Okay...seriously, if this was an emergency situation, don't waste the attendants time calling her...they have more important things to gather and do then answer the phone. Just do the common sense thing and get out no matter what.

Sorry if I offended anyone with this...it was really bothering me that people were not responding to a possible emergency situation.

Hurricane Evacuation!

Hey ALL! Well, I woke up this morning, grabbed some stuff together, went to work to finish closing up, THEN drove to Naples and immediately checked into the hotel and ran to the pool. Yeah, Hurricane Ike isn't going to hit Florida, but because of the low area we are in, we get to evac because the tide will come over the town. Even if the storm is 250 miles off shore. So I got a nice tan, got a margarita, ordering a pizza right now AND the Vikings and Packers are playing tonight and I can actually watch it!!! YAY!!! So the pizza will be here shortly! I will keep you updated on my getaway weekend!!

PS...my fixed camera will be here this week so I can take pictures again!!!

Hurricane Ike

So, just to let everyone know. We are evacutating for Hurricane Ike. It is suppose to be a Category 4 Hurricane when it hits Naples area on Wednesday. There's nothing really to stop it from building. So pretty much I am packing almost everything up in my car and taking off. Where ever I land in the South East United States, I call it in and the park will pay for the room. So Erin and I are outta here! I will keep you updated as much as possible. Feel free to give me a call, I will probably not be able to talk long, either because I am doing evacuation or because the electricity is out and I won't be able to charge my phone. Keep watching the news, if you hear anything about Naples area...that's me...in ol' Everglades City just south of Naples by about 35 miles.

One After Another!!

So still no camera....BUT it is getting fixed! I just had to pay 100 bucks...but that is better than 400!

Well, Hurricane Gustav passed Florida with little damage. The storm was more that 250 miles off of Florida but we still had rains, winds, and a storm surge. It came over the marina walls and started to flood the parking lot. It flooded town slightly, and the water completely covered the ground under our house. Good thing we live on stilts! I couldn't drive my car up to the house though, I had to park a couple blocks away and have Erin pick me up. She still had her rental Dodge Dakota (Go Big or Go Home) and didn't care if she drove through the salt water.

Now we are going into shut down mode tomorrow for Hurricane/Tropical Storm Hanna, then Tropical Storm Ike, and TS Josephine is brewin' out there!

Wednesday the visitor center gang went to the Miracles Baseball game! Not only was it free hot dog and nachos day, but drinks were a buck, beer was 2, and we got a free baseball at the door which we got signed by a couple of players! SCORE!! And we will be going back this wednesday for the playoff game and hopefully get more signatures!!

Otherwise Erin got her car fixed and it looks beautiful! We picked that up today.

Well, food is calling and so is Lara Croft Tomb Raider 1 AND 2!!
